The idea behind Spice O'Life was specifically to coordinate with Harvest, Avocado and Coppertone appliances; green, brown and gold are all represented in the design.
While Corning tried to serve Harvest, Avocado and Coppertone owners individually with Corelle, offering Butterfly Gold to Harvest owners, Spring Blossom Green to those with Avocado and Woodland Brown to the Coppertone crowd, that wasn't going to work with cookware, which is harder to stock, due to bulk and shipping weight. Spice O'Life was an enormous seller, both in the genuine Corning Ware and Pyrex products, and the host of knock-offs in every material under the sun. KMart had Spice O'Life everything, including garbage cans. Your Mom must have been a very good decorator, because making Harvest work with blue would take some skill. I am not being sarcastic, it could work. But you'd have to know what you were doing. |
