I emailed the seller. Fingers crossed. I already have a KDP20 but this one looks in great shape. I think the main difference was the 19 does not have the heated dry???

KDS19. Panel question.

I grabbed this. Very good shape! Very little use. Only question is...I was going to change out the copper tone/brown panels with the white ones from my KDP 20 but apparently they're not interchangeable. I remember the ones that have popped up from time to time on eBay but I'm thinking they won't work on a 19 series either. Is there a different part number I should be looking for??

I find it interesting that the panels on this machine are clearly shaded copper tone even though this machine would have been made between 1979 and 1981.  I thought that shading went the way of the dodo bird sometime in 1977 after the big "color summit" between the major appliance manufacturers.  Did Kitchenaid not attend the "summit"?

Does anyone have any info to share about this issue?

To the best of my knowledge, KitchenAid sold the front panels separate from the rest of the machine. This is how it was when my mom got the KDI-16. Perhaps they offered both shaded and unshaded versions. They also sold a primed panel that could be painted to match any color.

I just assumed the ones that slide in on my 20 series would fit but these look fitted. Hopefully I can find out where to get these. Or maybe possible to have them painted? Lol. The coppertone has grown on me a bit but my better has already frowned at bringing that color in the house. Lol

Thanks for the advice I'll definitely check out the spray paint option. Ovrphil: thanks for finding the fridge too. I'd love it but would cause a war if I bring another "old appliance" into the house. Lol. He's being patient with my quest for KA dishwashers but I'm afraid to push my luck. Lol. I've got the KDP20 and found a KDC21 that's still in my garage. And now the kDS19. He just sighed. Lol

KDP20, KDC21 and KDS19 - ahhh, you're just gettin' started....man needs a hobby. :-) I was just showing you the fridge; wasn't expecting otherwise. Good luck, Matt!
