Hiya everyone,

After 10 years of service my Mums Hotpoint First Edition FEW12 finally gave in last week, for a while now it used to jump around during spin cycles to the point where the drum and the cabinet were all dented, and she had to apply foot pressure to the door so it would lock and start, now the door won't lock at all.
So while I was visiting for Mother's Day yesterday I helped her choose one online, and ordered the Bosch VarioPerfect which is being delivered today, the Currys offer which has been advertised with a free steam generator iron included.
Let's hope she can get another decade out of this machine!!

Neil

Hi Neil
I have a Bosch WAE24166UK classixx 6 varioperfect washing machine, its brilliant!
quick cycles and even when speed perfect is selected, the rinsing is smashing!
I did have a Bosch sensixx iron and it wasn't too good, but I do have a steam generator iron (not a Bosch) and I can say your mum will love it! quick and easy ironing as well as perfectly pressed results! :)
Best of luck!
Tom

Hey Tom

I rang home today to check the delivery went ok,she's done some laundry and said its perfection, easy to use,I'm guessing it will be a damn site quieter than the old one!! Lol

Now as the machine is in we need to fill in the redemption form for the iron as they need the serial number from the inside of the door,

Next time I go to Bolton I'll see how it performs for myself,

I'd spent some time reading reviews on all the brands and Bosch had the best reviews,Also my auntie has a Bosch maxx or classix( can't remember the model) which about 9 years old,as has my mother in law,I'm actually a little jealous of my mum now!! Lol

I'll let you know more once I visit her again,

Neil

Currys Exclusive Bosch

It is a great machine this one, the worlds most water saving, in terms of a full load wash to water ratio.
If I remember correctly this one has the 64l (wave) drum, and not the 58l (Wave) the Exxcels have??

I've not been to see it yet,but I think the drum is a different style to the exxel,I'll take some photos next time I visit home

there's a difference between them because those models are made in Turkey where as other WAQ models are made in Spain. The main differences being the door, drum and filter cover shape. Spanish made 1's have the rectangle filter while the Turkish made 1's have the round filter. They're still letting the WAE Maxx models limp on though, as the basic design is almost 15 years old! :)

Indeed!
The drum is exactly the same, just 64l instead of 58l (and as you said round filter cover) it also takes the Logixx/HomePro and late Maxx door glass shape, instead of the Active water glass design.
Other than them changes, there pretty similar, except water usage is even less.

The Maxx lives on, even though I thought they'd phase them out, they've continued their Classixx in that design, and last May launched the Euronics exclusives (German Built versions based on Germany's Maxx Exxclusive machines) - which are still selling well.
I guess in May, Bosch UK may finally phase them out, and then September, I can see Bosch redesigning a lower end design (maybe for the IFA)? (My guess is the Logixx's will get a design tweak to include Wifi, and maybe Touch screen too?)

1 way I can tell that something new will come is when the digit in the model number is a 9. :)
