Hi all,
I've just had some renovation works carried out in my house, and with that came a completely new kitchen, and appliances. I had thought on keeping the old ones, but to be honest I just thought "sod it" and put the old ones on Ebay and bought new. Thought i'd upload a few pictures of it, for you to, hopefully, enjoy! |

Very nice - even though it somehow does look more like an appliance showroom than a kitchen.
Question: how common are XXL dishwashers in the UK? Looking at the gap where the DW is installed, it sure looks like an extra tall machine would fit in there easily. And what brand it the dishwasher? Love the washing machine! |

@logixx - ha, yes the person who designed it told me it would look like a showroom! I like it. I live alone, so it is perfect for me, and when I come to sell the place, it'll be functional enough for a couple to use the space.
The washing machine is great. I was going to get the IQ700 which has the "autodos" but that was an awful lot of money so just got this one, which has the same features, you just have to put detergent in yourself! The dishwasher is smart. Beko is an OK brand - I would struggle to see how a Miele machine, which costs ££££ so much more, would clean my glasses any better! |

I love your new washer, I have been lusting after those in John Lewis! Not that the Miele is getting replaced any time soon but if it were I'd probably choose the Siemens as we are open plan too, certainly seems to be one of the quietest washers you can buy here.

@matchboxpaul ¡V thank you very much! It is genuinely very quiet, even the pump is quiet too! When it is washing I would not hasten to say you cannot hear it. Not even the water sloshing about. When it comes on to spin, it hums very quietly, which does get slightly louder as it increases right up to 1400 rpm (the final spin section is 15 minutes long). The silence was important as it is all open plan.
@imperial70 ¡V thanks very much. I am very pleased with it. It is very difficulty to keep shiny though!! @washdaddy ¡V the drum light comes on when you power the machine up, and it stays on as you are loading it. Once you start the cycle, it stays on for about 30 seconds, which is pretty cool to watch as the water starts to enter the machine. If you pause the cycle while it is running, then press start again, the light comes back on, which can be fun too! Then, once the cycle is over, the light comes up to aid you unloading it. It is very bright, I suspect it is a halogen bulb of some sort. @alude ¡V nope, not from Ikea. I had a local kitchen company measure the space and make me a kitchen from their range. I like to support small business where I can, although slightly more expensive, their service was second to none. @zipdang ¡V glad you like! ƒº @warmsecondrinse ¡V thanks very much for your comments! Behind the hob is a glass splash back that I had made for the kitchen. I didn¡¦t want tiles as they didn¡¦t quite fit with the vision I had for clean lines, and I don¡¦t think they always look modern. @countryguy ¡V thank you. I agree that the hob is difficult to use if you don¡¦t have the manual! I had to refer to it on the first few occasions I was using it. It¡¦s touch sensitive, and very easy to u se once you ¡§know how¡¨. The oven, I think, is very straightforward without any instructions and I think lots of text and symbols over it would spoil the design. I guess it¡¦s personal preference! Ha! The slippers! They were an XMAS present! |

Bears repeating - it does look like a showroom - like the Home Depot EXPO stores that were once around here in the states.
The other side of my tastes are stated here -always loved modern and sleek, but it's not always tastefully done. There's textures, lines, and appliances...which your decorator helped with, but you picked out. It's really a nice looking place - just needs a little green plant somewhere to remind us we're on earth. :-) Nice photos. Phil |

Does it include a pre-wash? Or is one addable? And how are the waterlevels on curtains and delicate? (Obviously, everything is about curtains XD) |

@ganksy1 - much appreciated, thank you!
@richukbristol - ha, yes, the downs cycle….it has an intensive setting too ;-) @ovrphil - I'll go plant shopping this weekend, promise!! @chestermike - thanks very much! deffo induction. I love it! The maytags - sold them on ebay in the end. Lovely, solid machines, but far too noisy for the open plan area I have created (in the previous design the washer was in a kitchen, which was a room on its own - I had that wall knocked down, meaning it wasn't practical to have it any more @hene4 - it does include a pre-wash as standard, with high water levels throughout each stage of the cycle. YOu can add a pre-wash to any programme by pressing the button asking for one. |

Oh, those Siemens dryers get pretty hot. The thermostat cuts off when the temp reaches 70 to 75C on a normal cycle before it reaches Iron Dry, at which point the max. temp is reduced by 10C
The reason you don't feel much hot air coming from it is because it releases it through mainly the back panel and every other nook and cranny there is. Remove the water tank and you can feel quite a bit of hot air blowing out of the opening. Alex |
