color on knobs(was that customer added or original?) ... and chromed base cabinet edges - different looking than most of these stacked units.

This is the early WCI version of the Skinny-Mini. It looks almost the same as the previous GM version but WCI replaced the GM Agi-tub washer mechanism (the GM version always had two knobs to control the washer in their Laundry Center, not 3 like in this one). The dryer section remained the same as on older GM models for a while. |

Yes the GM Frigidaire versions of these machines never had a knob for water-level, they had timed fill with their solid tub design.
You can see this SM still had the GM fire hazard designed heater assembly in the dryer, WCI had to change this bad design before GE would buy this product to sell under the GE name, this is also when the plastic washer door and washer lid disappeared, also to reduce the risk of fires spreading to the homes surroundings. |
