Considering that you posted in the Imperial forum, it's got to be washer (not stove) related. My guess it's a piece to some strange plastic agitator.

Hmmm....

It ALMOST looks like part of a Frigidaire jetcone. But I've never seen a jetcone with fins or one in that color. I can't decide it it's orange (like a bottle of Tide liquid) or red (like an older bottle of Wisk).

It's a Blackstone Petticoat (sp?)used to make their one speed machines have a gentle agitation action.

Blackstone is on the money here and Tom guessed it correctly.
It is for delicate washes in the Blackstone.
Fred what was the real trade name for this piece?

I'd call it a gent-a-lator??

I'll take a picture of it in place and put it up here for all to see.

It's a Blackstone Petticoat used to make their one speed machines have a gentle agitation action. The spelling is correct. I have some still in the box.

Jon, I did not "guess." I knew. I have pages from trade magazines announcing the attachment. TT

Wow, I definitely underestimated the size of that accessory...it's HUGE!!! When I mentioned it to Greg on the phone, he said that it covered up the vanes, but I couldn't understand how it would do that if it was so small...but I guess looks can be deceiving!!

Its good agitation but nothing like the Easy Spiralator. It is about equivalent to a 1950's GE Activator except the Blackstone has higher fins up the column so there is more action at the top of the wash than a GE.

If Robert ever gets out here to take that video he's been talking about we could post it on the club.
tap tap tap tap.......

Oh I got some 'splainin to do now ohhhhhhhhh
