Hi all, I am getting this one, It's a while is listed and cannot see someone going for it, price is okay, they said working order, already organizing shipping with the seller,I think it's neat and I think it will sell fine if just advertised as it should...
Will give some loads trying to see if everything is okay with it, even though I already see from the pics it has it's suspension to redo and probably needs a boot change, am not going to keep it since as you probably know I am not satisfied with front loader performances, my idea was to restore whatever needs to be restored (according to my knowledge and abilities limits) and then trade it for a good dishwasher that I desperately need of, from some collectors, so if you know someone who's insterested and got a dishwasher to trade let me know.... Thanks www.subito.it/elettrodomestici/la... |

Thanks for posting, as far as I know we did not get this model of L5 in the UK. You are perfectly right, the bio dial selected the length of soak time and started the wash again automatically. Machines with the bio rocker switch relied on the user selecting the normal position after they felt the clothes had soaked enough.
These Indesits only had one spin speed, the switch that appears to select a lower spin just reduced the spinning time. These machines span at 360/380rpm or there abouts. The programmes as far as I recall are as follows L = Long wash 24 and 21 = wash time in minutes after the heating phase WW , this I'm unsure of, I had thought wash and wear maybe? 9 and 6 , again wash time after heating phase. I II III IV V , these indicate the five rinses and C is the final spin. If anyone else can shed light on the WW that would be great |

Thank you so much Paul for explaining me the programs....so the spin selector is just for spinning time....no bad anyway...
I am familiar with the Bio soak selector as I have used it in some candy, but I really needed help for the programs, showing wash time is much more reasonable though than just a program, love this fact of was time, what also I liked in Indesit was the spindrain of the self clean pump.... I have repaired a few indesits when I was a kid (small things) like suspensions, belts and so on.... Hope it does not have major issues... I think the reason these were not sold in UK is because over there people are usual to place machines undercounter in the kitchen, and this having dials and drawer on the top made it impossible... |

We had three models of Indesit L5 in the uk, the very basic model with programme, temp dial and on/off switch. The Europa model and the model with the yellow bio switch like and L8. They sold reasonably well as the were incredibly cheap compared to most other brands, they did stick out from under the worktop and you certainly needed a separate spin dryer. If I recall they were phased out around 1978/79 and by then if you wanted a cheap Indesit you bought the L8, much more suited to British kitchens.
