Someone was trying to sell an Bendix on eBay for $400, or some such dear amount several weeks ago.IIRC the unit did not sell both times it was listed. There is no rhyme or reason to prices on eBay these days for vintage appliances. However will say with large heavy things such as a bolt down Bendix takers can be very few. Part of this is the fact shipping is very dear, which leads to only a local market for interest. If you REALLY want the unit, offer the man a decent amount near or even at his price. If not wait until it is on eBay and see what it goes for there. You may be able to win it for less than $400 if the seller does not use a reserve price listing. You verus other potential bidders have the advantage of seeing the unit in person and know the true condition. Some sellers of vintage appliances are better not bothered with. They've been watching too many episodes of "Antique Roadshow" IMHO and suddendly vision early retirement with whatever they've found lying about spare. L. |
