I'd like to know ....what's up with the panel and the right side looking articulated, not in the same plane as the controls.

Maytag Knob

Looks like a maytag Atlantis style knob on the washing machine timer.

What...What?

Grandmother had a similar dryer circa 1972 (also in avocado) with a side-swing plug door.  The ad unit is slightly more deluxe with the full-width hamper door.

Wow - that dryer has some mileage on it! I love seeing things really well used.

I agree with Malcolm, looks like a Maytag knob on the DD washer. The original knobs Kenmore used on these tend to weaken from what I've heard and break off. The replacement FSP part is metal reinforced for added durability. Looks like someone used some cross-branded ingenuity in this case to replace a broken knob.

is that the normal panel - it looks like someone broke it or moved it out of place - never saw anything like that - most panels are linear from edge to edge, no broken up where part of it folds down towards the back.

You eagle eyes with knob identification. :-)

Nothing wrong with the panel.  Here's another of the same style.

Better angle on photo

DaDoES - NOW I can see the panel - it was just the angle of the photo - trained in art, too. Ha!
Thanks so much for posting it.

That model dryer and its washer match were featured in the original Halloween movie.

70Series - it constantly amuses and amazes me the trivia that is revealed throughout aw.org.

Now that you mention it, it has a bit of green-monster shading there. :-)
