HANS ALERT!!! HANS ALERT!!!

GO GET IT, Hans! This is near you, it's ridiculously cheap, and the top can be replaced or reporcelainized. In good shape, this is a perfect range for you. And at $50, you can afford to put some money into fixing issues.

If I had the time and the funds, I would bring it to you.

We will find you a top, okay?

We are officially underway with the Hans Project. The project consists of:

- Getting Hans to pick up the range.

- Helping Hans find parts.

- Helping Hans work through issues.

- Supporting Hans in every way possible.

THAT. IS. ALL. At ease.

I say: For fifty bucks, get it. You might be very pleasantly surprised.

My own GE 30-incher, the J 370, looked pretty damned bad when I got it. Lots of grease, lots of neglect, lots of stuff awry.

But - every single last thing on it worked! I had several days of rubbing and scrubbing, and I did replace some rusty burner trim rings and some faded knobs. But actual repairs? Not a one - and I had been braced for having some real issues.

I took a chance, and won. You might very well do the same. And remember, I had to buy my J 37O sight unseen, through Tim polkanut. Tim wasn't able to see the range plugged in. And I still won, because GEs of that era are built to last.

Go get 'em, tiger!

GE 40" Range

Great range, good price, but tired, if you go look at it first, maybe, but I would skip it and hold out for better condition.

Tom and I cleaned up many a GE range and it is not worth it when they are this bad, just to reporcelain coat the top is hours of labor to remove and box, ship, and wait and wait and the bill for doing this could be as high as $1000.00 not counting your labor.

Jeff, Mpoarvrignia has a range just like this one that he is willing to trade you for the Norge that is in far better shape.

I Agree!

I have got to get up that way and do that swap...that 50.00 range was everyone's idea but mine...I had no intention of trying to fool with that basket case!
