Bob...it's slate blue? I like these, although color commitment would require the right other palate of colors to make it work.
Poll: Do dark colors shrink the size of a kitchen? We're about to involuntarily receive an apt upgrade, as new management decided to put black GE appliances in all the apartments. Ugly units and will probably make the kitchen smaller looking? We have never had dark colored appliances...and wouldn't choose black. But I like this slate blue alot. |

Yeah, those are the rare Shaded Slate (Kenmore name)/Edged Sapphire Blue (Whirlpool name) color, produced for a very short time around '67. Hope someone will get these. |

Cool, the ref is WP built with the factory Ice Magic automatic Ice Maker these were great refrigerators in the day. The range is a Kelvinator built range, these worked OK but were nothing to write home about.
I have a Sapphire Blue WP Mark12 washer that I am restoring at our warehouse, it was a very rare and cool color. |

John, by any chance do you know how long Whirlpool made this color? It must have been not much more than a year, if that. |

Tom I really do not know how long it was made, but your guess of one model year is probably about right. I bet that there were some left over ones in warehouses for a few years there after, back in the 70s and even the 80s it was not unheard of to see 5 and 10 year old appliances NIB still available for sale from our appliance distributors, this almost never happens today.
