Looks great Jerry, now you have the beauty of an 808 MT dryer with the reliability of a simple timer machine. You could use the unused buttons as a light switch so you could easily have the light on when the dryer is not.
One other modification that I made on my DE750 MT dryer was to cut the metal brackets that hold the florescent bulb sockets and remount them, doing this allowed me to install a longer bulb for more complete and even panel illumination. |

Sandy I am one of the oldest Maytag Experts on this site, the collection currently includes
An AMP pair, the dryer is the matching 61W water condensing model. [ washer restored ] A 140S with a matching water condensing dryer. [ dryer restored ] An A900 washer and matching DE750 dryer both in brown [ fully restored ] An A50 and matching DE50 both in avocado and fully restored. A HA806 washer restored and improved with the 50 cycle motor pulley. An almost unused last year production MT round tub Wringer Washer. A Maytag Neptune stack Gas Washer-Dryer. And lastly a Maytag Neptune touch screen washer and a brand new never used [ yet ] Maytag gas drying cabinet dryer. This last set will reside in my new laundry room at my primary home, the others will be connected at the museum for use and demonstration purposes. |
