A friend of mine is "cleaning" out her fathers estate (dumpster load after dumpster load) and she has these 3 wringer washers.

2 Maytags, a J2LP and an E2L (not sure if there's a pump) and I don't know what the 3rd one is.   I tried looking for a model / serial tag / info plate, but have was not able to see one and I didn't bother to move it away from the wall.

I belive she it looking to sell them, but not sure how much.   I told her probably $25 to maybe $50 each.

Contact me via AW-mail or e-mail if you are interested.

Thanks!

Kevin

The unknown 3rd wringer.   Any thoughts on what brand / vintage it might be?

Maybe an Apex, or a Thor -- something's pinging but not clearly. The circular emblem is familar, but it won't come through.  So is the wringer,  (GE-esque).  Might get a Eureka moment, later today.  Someone will.

In LA, all of next week for a Loyola Law School graduation, maybe have a look-see. Definitely a pumper. 1930's

They have most likly been sitting for years, so not completely sure.   I would imagine it will work when plugged in, but not sure about the condition of the drain hose, etc.

I jsut contacted her and she said when will check it tonight.

By the hose end

It appears the J2L is a pump model and the E2L is gravity drain. They do look like they've been sitting for some time. I'd say $25.00 a piece is a fair price.

An agitator shot would tell all...

Update!

revvinkevin's profile picture

She tested all three wringers this afternoon with water and all three of them work! The agitators agitate and the wringers turn/roll. She was surprised!

She said $50 for the J2LP (that may be negotiable).

Also, she is thinking about taking that unknown machine and planting flowers in it.

Question for you Paul.

And just which tomatoes are you dodging?

Cherry tomatoes, roma tomatoes, beef steak tomatoes, fried green tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, a jar of tomato preserves (that would hurt)..........or............

update....

hi kevin!!

thank you for the update & for letting me know that the J2LP agitates & the wringers roll. and that she'll take $50 for it (price possibly negotiable).

my answer is;
please let her know i'd have to plan a trip from arizona to california and being that it is so dirty & looks kinda oily on that wringer joint, i would be willing to pay $30.
if she is willing to accept the $30 for it, please get back to me & let me know. if not, that's ok too. i can give my aunt the N2LP i have here, that i just bought. and it's not like i really need a wringer washer, just thought it would be neat to have. so if she won't take $30 for it, that's ok too.

thank you kevin. and i'll be waiting to hear back from you with her resply.

lovingly,
christina/hippiedoll ;o)

Update # 2

revvinkevin's profile picture

To Christina and any others who MAY have and an interest in these.....

My friend is back peddling now, either that or I misunderstood her original intent.

She said "Thank you for your offer" but she had decided to keep them and turn them into yard art or flower pots of at least two of them.   The J2L being one of them.    Not sure what she's going to do with the E2L.

Sorry!

Kevin
