Not only do I not know what the seller is thinking, but I don't know what Whirlpool/Sears was thinking when they designed the handles for the fridges of this period. 

 

We had a lesser and later model that lacked the section of trim between the handles and the tops of the doors.  The grips were so low that my dad thought the handles were installed upside down.  A service tech came out and advised they were positioned correctly, but he flipped them over at my dad's request.  That placed the grips at about crotch level or slightly higher.
