I'm in the process of overhauling a Maytag E2LP and removed the pump earlier today. I got the pump cover off the volute and found that the inside was a mess. The shaft seems to be frozen and it was clogged with an amazing amount of silt.
My guess is the machine was stored out doors and the crown caught and trapped water. Oddly the bottom of the tub is in very good condition. The kiss of death is that I touched one of the impellers and got it to deflect. Should I contact Phil for a replacement? |
