AD: "If you want a vintage stove but cannot afford $1000's restoration here is your chance! This electric stove is all original and in excellent condition. The person we bought it from said it was in a pool house of an estate and very rarely used, the condition it is in is amazing. We purchased it to use in a home remodel but our plans changed. Frigidaire model numbers of that era give very exact information if one knows how to read them.
The "RO" prefix is for the model year 1951. The prefix changed each year. The "70" model designation is for a TOL 40-inch range. The model designation did not change each year. For instance, I grew up with a 1948 Frigidaire RK-70 range - "RK" for 1948, but still "70" for a TOL 40-incher. So, the answer to your questions is easy to determine. Of course, none of us would know this stuff if it weren't for pioneering members like Ben swestoyz and Mark kenmore71, who collected literature way before all this vintage appliance interest became cool. |

Doing an FAQ would probably be a very intensive effort. Not only are there many different types of appliance, there are many different manufacturers.
There is also the question of exceptions. Every time you "decode" model and serial numbers, you run into exceptions, which can mean that a model number doesn't run true to the usual sequence used. Fortunately, there is the Super Searchalator here on AW, to which you have access as an upgraded member. If you had put "1951 Frigidaire range" into the Searchalator, you'd have seen the RO-70 as the second result. Searches on other years would also yield information and photos. It is not as fast as an FAQ section might be, but at least for the time being, it's the best we've got. |

I've looked through your posts, and I don't see anything "messed up" or "ignorant."
You're FINE. And I for one am glad you're with us. It's nice to see someone your age who appreciates the Loewy Frigidaires, and even nicer to see someone so new to the hobby who has already figured out the difference between those and later models. |

Is this your truck? Love, love, love the font of the lettering. The vehicle is a 1937 Packard panel truck.
