Suds-lock? In a Kenmore?? No.

I love the "secret compartment" control panel, that is so very Clue...

Veg, The heat is deflected from the back of the vent duct and comes out of the top right side of the control panel! Mark

I'm surprised to see that the room heater on the 1958 LK dryer is completely different than on the 1957 dryer.

In 1957 the dryer came with this big porcelain and steel attachment for heating the room...

You take the filter out of the filter port and slip the heated air diverter attachment in. Then you run the dryer, its amazing how quickly this 50amp dryer heats up the basement...

Love that attachment with the chrome grill! Looks like something that should be on a speaker grillwork of a 1950's jukebox!
Suds lock, slow spin and all....Those 1950's Kenmores are all gorgeous machines!

Did I hear that Kenmore offered a hair dryer attachment, too? Or was that strictly a Norge thing?

Something that pulls over 8000 watts of power better be able to do more than just dry laundry! Bet one or two of those dryers going at the same time could brown-out the entire area back in their day. *LOL*

Now how freaking cool is that?! I've never seen such an attachment before. I've lived with both a '59 LK and a '60 Model 80, but neither had a room heater attachment. Thanks for the pic; once again, I learned something new today. :)
