Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say what a great site for information and pictures, amazing!. We are trying to find a kelvinator magic minute for our son Louis, he has aspergers and his special interest is top loader washing machines of all makes.

He especially wants that model because of the orbital agitator.
If any of you can help us track one down would be much appreciated.
We are happy to consider any repairable condition (as long as we can find parts)

Thanks for your time.

Giles and Louis

Welcome to the fun. I have Aspergers, which might partly explain why at 8yo I pulled a chair up to our Westinghouse frontloader. Next thing you know I was fixing it. Great thing about Aspys, we'll never be ordinary.

I don't know about Kelvinator orbitals but juzbout guarantee someone here does.

Add Me to the List

Another one here: Have had many and varied interests to this day.

Automatic Washers/Dishwashers and other "stuffs" are just another one to the list. Along with computers and airplanes, this has been a lasting interest, too.

*Hint* The display picture I have set relates to raising awareness for people like us :)

We don't need 'treatment.' We are who we are, and I'm proud of it!

Cheers W111. Weren't for Aspy, I would have been bored-to-death ordinary. And still had crooked teeth besides.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the replies and great videos.
We agree aspy's are amazing!
Louis is already hoping to turn my shed into a washing machine repair shop!
We will stay in touch as we get started with the collection.
Classic machines are few and far between here in NZ.

If anyone heres of a kelvinator for sale let us know, shipping is not a problem.
All the best.
Giles and Louis

It will be hard to find a Kelvinator of that age. I don't think members here will give up theirs.

BTW, the Kelvinator design is from ABC-O-Matic, that was later bought up by Kelvinator. So look out for an ABC too.

Here's another video:

And in the meantime keep an eye on the NZ auction sites. There are some treasures there! For instance this F&P:

Hi Louisgene

Were the Kelvinator machines sold in NZ?

I believe they were sold in Australia but are exceedingly rare here.

Good luck with the search.

Where in NZ are you? My partner and I love NZ, will be back again in the next year or two.

Hi Foraloysius thanks for finding that beauty on trade me, we are going to bid on it anyway, Need to get the collection started!

Hi Gizmo,we have been told that some kelvinators did make it here but they are probably even rarer than in Aus! We live at Picton were the ferry comes into the Marlborough sounds. Thanks again.
