ok if you saw my previous post I picked up the Whirlpool Imperial Seventy pair, filled washer up checked for leaks ran great...washer seemed fine ( guy probably thought I was nuts)....lol......until I got home and dragged it into the house..... UGH! big mess filled machine started to wash, drip drip drip.......outer tub is junk, pump is leaking too :o(.......I suspected there would be some work but UGH..... not happy in Attleboro.....think its time for a cocktail model# LA7800XMW0, Serial C51360285, from what appliance 411 said it was manufactured in march of 1985 would love to get this machine up and running but need a tub, a seal, probably a basket and maybe some moral support......

Man, that stinks.  Certainly sounds like it was a bummer.  Here's a whiskey sour for ya.

Be on the lookout for another large capacity belt drive Kenmore/Whirlpool from the 80's.  They are still out there.  Hopefully then you can get an outer tub and make one good machine from the two.

If you don't mind a drive north of the border...

I have a mid-80s Whirlpool outer tub, inner tub, baseplate and pump from a Canadian Whirlpool machine that I scavenged the gearcase from in order to bring my 66 Inglis back to life.  If you can come and get them, the parts are yours!!

I also know of a slightly older WP washer, supposedly in working condition but has been sitting idle for a few years in the Worcester, MA area.

Send me a private message or an email (my addy is in my profile).

Looking beyond the laundry appliances and the truck...look at all that space between the houses! That's definitely not Palm Springs or San Jose for that matter either. That's real luxury in my book. Best of luck finding the parts you need.

You can try JB Weld, and then POR (paint over rust).
