I can't understand why you say you haven't seen anything like this before.  You have gas slide-in ranges such as this today.  This was simply way ahead of its time.  I think it's beautiful.

Modern Maid...lots of these were sold in the South.Their gas ranges were much better than their electric ones.

That's pretty nice!  I love the fact that it's only 24" wide and love the reverse angle on the oven door - zoomy styling.
