That's the trouble w/ JCP: Why buy a pale imitation of the Hotpoint/GE when nearly the same amount of money (OK, a few-hundred-dollars, more!) bought you the REAL THING????!!!!
Sadly, for the money you DID save, the formerly-branded PENNCREST, did not do nearly as well as Montgomery Ward & Sears, let alone anything like Western Auto, Gambles, Grant's, et. al. even when proclaiming it was 'Jay-Cee Penn-eee'...! GENERAL ELECTRIC went even nearly as far to not only service its own GE brand, and its Hotpoint division but even JC Penny appliances via their CUSTOMER CARE™ repair service outlet, as well...! As for the ad, it seems as though only TOL models of their washers & dryers were really worthy of making the 'Poster Childs' of the day... (And luckily, as a washer of Hotpoint parentage, had the benefit of the lint filters being self-cleaning, too...!) -- Dave |
