The deal of a lifetime?  Is this not just about the nastiest mess you've ever seen?  Gotta love the seller's optimism.  NOT

I love how they rated its condition as 'fair'....  EEESH!

I guess the scrappers refused to come and get it, too... LOL

I think it's too funny that the owner had the balls to say it is a "LITTLE BANGED UP" and will take a "LITTLE ELBOW GREASE" (more like a 50 gal. drum of it) to clean it up.

It looks like you could just take a match to it for it to go up in a blaze of glory!

I bet the oven just looks ducky! ;)

No. The "little" schmutz thats on it just shows how much it was appreciated and all the wonderful, tasty meals that were prepared with it. It just gives it more flavor!

I Think....

....That in this case, the term "elbow grease" refers to fact that the next owner will be in grease up to their elbows!

I'm agreed with Hans, except if the stove looks like that, surely the entire house is equally disgusting, therefore, one might light more than the stove.

I've cleaned stoves that were as bad, or worse, than that. How bad does someone want something?

"Come and get it!"

And never be seen or heard from again.

Yikes!
It is almost as though they posted this just to see who would actually come out to get it!
Sadly...I have been in homes this nasty. At Estate sales and otherwise.
Yuck!

I can't imagine transporting it on anything but a flat trailer or stake bed truck. That might give the roaches a breath of fresh air. It will certainly lubricate the scrapper as it goes through it.

I would like to know what this baby looked like the last time food was actually prepared on/in it.  Unless it's been stored for a very long time and a lot of what we see happened as a result of bad storage, I just can't imagine eating anything was prepared with this range.

How to Sell on Craigslist - LOL!

ovrphil's profile picture
1)Don't clean it too much since it's FREE : " A little banged but nothing a little elbow grease and steel wool won't take care of"

2) Emphasize best features : " not sure if all the burners work" (the do-it-yourselfer will just eat this up)

3) Close the deal - "...come get it.."

(yeah, and don't come alone )

That kind of grease buildup around the surface units to where the trim rings cannot be seen does not come from storage, but from outright abusive use.

OINK!

I've seen much cleaner pig pens!

Bet the place stinks so bad you'd have to wear a respirator to go in.

In the 80s

I worked for a local heating and AC company, I have been in some houses so nasty your shoes actually stuck to the floor!!! Once I serviced a oil fired floor furnace...when I fired it up, roaches came up out of the grill like a swarm of bees...the lady who lived there was running around squishing them with her high heeled shoes!!I wish I had a video of that!!!

Actually, that might be the perfect footwear for the job - the pointy toes mean you can get the ones that run into the corners! :)

That range is junk! Only one who would want that might be a scrapper, and then only if he was desperate.
