It's amazing to me, that some stoves were never used...or very little. I can't imagine buying something and not using it...maybe these people had a big estate, with in-house chefs or just preferred that good old smokey green egg cooker. LOL. I wonder ...how old is this unit?

Almost Identical

Found this ad on Ebay - it's not the exact model, but very similar.  It appears that the one in the ad is maybe one up the line (TOL?) from the one for sale in Birmingham.  Anyway, gives a nice description of most of the features on the Birmingham model.

The Hardwick Stove Company history is interesting - guess they still operate the textile mill(?), though all is owned now by Maytag. I just ran across this page :

tennesseeencyclopedia.net/entry.p...

Thanks for posting the ad and getting a date.

It's probably a Lo-Broil model... Not surprisingly, it's also non-Self Cleaning; CONTINUOUS CLEANING, in fact, on top of that!

Does this stove use pilot lights?

The eBay ad (not the same model) mentions pilot-less ignition, but the unit in B'ham looks like it uses a shared pilot for two burners.

Can anyone confirm?

Or were at least, so maybe the thing was purchased for that purposed and then someone changed their mind.

Still not a bad range for only $150 and change. Streets ahead of what you can get for that kind of money today.
