I love the ginormous oven on this. Westinghouse had some lovely design in that era.

The Westinghouse says bake, broil and clock do not work. It's possible controls are set to timed bake, and clock is non-functional, which would cause oven to not operate. The clock on my range hasn't worked since about 1970.

It could be as simple as one small knob on the clock being jostled out of the Manual position when cleaning. The knob has three positions, Set, On and Manual (S,O,M). If you forget to move it from O to M after using the clock control, the oven seems dead.

"oven seems dead"

something so simple - wonder if the seller knew that or is sending it off anyways - would be such a nice quick and fun fix, if it was just the knob on the clock being positioned on O, instead of M.

Westinghouse 40" Range

... is on its way to a new home (mine)! Just in the nick of time, the new appliances are coming tomorrow and since there had not been any local interest in the range, it was about to become about a dozen Hyundais when it would have been hauled away. The seller was really nice and was trying to save the stove, she did have an appliance repair company check it out, so it will be interesting to see just how challenging the oven repairs will be... presumably not quite as easy as resetting the controls. Luckily, I have a friend not too far away who rushed over this evening to rescue this incredible stove! Of course step two is a road trip to North Carolina to pick it up!
