Judging by the amber ashtray...

and the panel/edged paintwork on the washer...I'd think more like mid 60s/early 70s...not 80s.

My neighbors bought one very like this...

in 1965. I wish my mental file cabinet wasn't so full of other info. I used to have instant recall of appliance and car design changes and their dates....

This is a "17" series (like KDS17) if it were built-in that's toward the end of the series run due to it also having the energy saver dry option.  Like maybe 1975 or 1976.  I think the 18 series came out in like 1976 or 1977

Anyway, I think that's a mid to late 70's model isn't it?

17 A series ... it has the brown no-heat dry button on left of the panel.

Since there is an ashtray nearby that probably means it has been exposed to years of cigarette smoke. I wonder if it smells like cigarettes when it heats up during washing?

From what I have heard here the smoke even gets inside the walls of the outer case.

Glenn is right on KDS-57A

The smoke does get inside everything and takes some work to get rid of. Case in point, just picked this up last weekend and it smells like Pall Malls when it gets warmed up!
