The left side of the control panel has a big crack running right thru the logo of the machine. Wonder if it's replaceable or would that have to be repaired.

It IS a shame...

I've repaired a lot of lucite/acrylic things like this, but I suspect it'd be hard to do it imperceptibly. More than likely, a replacement would have to be sourced from a donor machine (if you could even find one).

Is it me, or does it look like it had an upper rack transplant??

Mine looks like that one.

It looks like the original to me.  It looks like it has the indent up above for the small items basket and I think that was removed from later models.  I just took this.  Sorry it's full of dishes.

I have been searching for that control panel so long it might be worth $100 to me.

Here's the machine - but the panel's cracked.

Mine is cracked too!!

In exactly the same spot!!  I think it's fairly large area for a fairly thin piece of plastic.  I really don't know how it happened.  I woke up one morning and noticed it was cracked.

I love the look of these early 60s Hobarts. Now if only I could find one locally.

Ill bet one thing!

They will be sorry when they use a new DW after having a real one!! less than 1 hour and your dishes are clean and dry!!Whatever they replace it with will run 2 or 3 hours...wont clean as well, and certainly wont dry as well!!!
