Now that i am always out on the hunt for vintage Washers and Dryers especially Colors !!! Iv`e noticed that Harvestgold is the most common Color Not that i am complaining as harvestgold is my favorite color!! But i have only seen a very few in avocado green and NO coppertone, the coppertone seems to be the rarest color. i remember in the late 60`s that it was popular but only for a very few years. People that i know that do estate sales tell me they always dispose of colored appliances cause they never sell too bad i would buy them all.Anybody else notice this !! maybe it`s just here in southern calif. that harvestgold was the most popular Color

I always thought avocado green was the most popular (and MY favorite) color of the appliance world. Colored appliances rock! My parents house in Chalmette had 1965 Modern Maid oven and cooktop.

Copertone

Actually Coppertone came along in the 50s during the heyday of pink, yellow and turquoise, lasted into the 70s alongside Harvest and Avocado and toward the end of its run was darkened and called coffee. Our kitchen had copertone appliances and our next door neighbor had the deluxe Compact30 and all of her other appliances in Tahitian Green.

I'm a fan of EVERY vintage appliance color from the 1970's; whether it be Avocado Green, Harvest Gold, Coppertone, or Poppy Red, they all look cool in my opinion. It's interesting to see what the color perspective of different brands is...for example Whirlpool's version of Harvest looks different than Frigidaire's.
