For sale. I've decided to part with a few of my machines and use the money towards other interests. Therefore, I am going to sell my 1965 Frigidaire Imperial washer and dryer in turquoise. They are both top of the line and are in near mint condition. They both work and would be the centerpiece of any collection. I am asking $1500 for both and they are located in their birth city of Dayton Ohio. Email me with any questions you might have.

Thanks
Dave

Oh Dave, If I had that kind of money available, I'd buy that set immediately!  (that probably explains why I don't have the money to get it!).

**Swoons, faints, and demands that Hubby bring some smelling salts**    Dream machines, but the cash flow says 'nope' for me too.

Chuck, you're right about these sometimes having problems, loose agitators and the rest (and the main problem is getting spare parts when you need them) but being problematic doesn't mean they aren't desirable to some... If I had the money, I'd be driving to Ohio to get this set. Unfortunately, at the moment, I couldn't even afford to drive to Ohio to pick them up! There are two reasons for that:

1st: I never had a big income and I currently have no income at all and health problems that keep me out of work...

2nd: I don't mind spending a lot more than what most people would for a lot of things that I want, until there's no more money or credit to get them...

And I already have a white set of these that I use 2-3 times a week and I just love them! I got both from other members and with help from Paul who hauled the washer all the way from Iowa to Montreal for me and I consider myself to be very lucky to have all that help!

I didn't pay much for them and I did have to repair the washer before I could use it but I like this set so much that no money would get it out of my hands (even if I badly need some money at the moment!).

I wouldn't want to rely on just a set of these to do my laundry but if I had the set above, I think I wouldn't even use it! I just happen to love that color and I'd want to preserve that set for as long as I live!

Well......

Laundromat I'm not sure why you felt the need to call me names seeing as how you don't know me but that's your karma to deal with not mine. Yes the indicator dial glass had come loose from the panel but I fixed that and all it cost was some glue and twenty minutes of my day. Furthermore, I don't give two hoots in hell how "problematic" these units were, they are very beautiful and as you can see desirable. As I see it these machines has a lot in their favor. Color, condition, completeness, rareness and lastly style. Look at people on here who covet the Maytag Combo washer/dryer. A machine so awful it's own creator tried to wipe it from the face of the earth! However, all it's problems it had style and at least if
It didn't work it's owner would get lots of admiration for the sheer fact they possessed such a rare unit. Now I am sure there could be more of these somewhere but they were owned by one person and were in a high end modern house with an upstairs laundry in Dayton. That means they were not in a wet or dusty basement. Also, I have the original manuals for both as well as the sales brochure and bill of sale. Lastly, I don't do drugs nor am I desperate for money. Not that's it's any of your business but I'm a musician and I found a very nice Hammond B3 that I wish to purchase and the $10,000 asking price is very fair but a little over my current means. I decided a few months ago to mainly focus on combos and not w/d sets. Therefore, if I can sell these to someone who would love them very much and I can get to my goal and get my organ then I'm happy.

Crack head? Ice head?

Hey "Laundromat",

That was really stupid thing to say! Listen to what you wrote! If that sounds good to you, do us all a favor, find somewhere else to run your mouth.

It is not even my machine, and nor do I know the owner. However, I'm not going to sit back and let some self important blowhard alienate another club member!

Is anyone else out there sick of all the opinionated experts, that are always complaining about outrageous prices, condition, or stupid people on Craigslist? I would rather hang out with the person that isn't in the "know" about what they are selling, than the overly critical, self proclaimed expert.

If you aient got nothin good to say, shut your pie hole! Reading critical crap, takes the fun out, and "dumbs" us all down!

BTW

In my humble novice opinion, these machines would be a steal at twice the price.

I deleted that post, there is no reason what so ever to call other members names and such.

Suds- I wish you a boatload of good fortune in getting that organ!!! Nothing like an original B-3, and this from a non-connoisseur of organs!

As for the drama- remember who it is!

Chuck

p.s.- wish we could afford those! Great look and color!!!

Those dashboards and chrome details around the front and sides , all those buttons, one of the COOLEST designs ever----and the timer you turn by REMOTE silver knob! And the foot pedal for the dryer!

Questions

Is the dryer electric or gas ?

Can you post pictures of the control panels and inside the dryer please?

These are probably the best condition set of these available anywhere, and I agree with Marty, they are easily worth twice he asking price, I am even considering them and I already have a turquoise pair of these.

this sort of thing just does NOT exist in any substantial number anymore. They will fetch a good price...and honestly I am also considering them myself. They're insanely appealing.
