Home Comfort..

This was made by the Wrought Iron Range Co, their big deal was TOL wood cookstoves from the late 1800s thru the 50s, one of the best known highest quality wood stoves ever built they tried to change to electric and gas ranges in the late 40s and 50s, the info is sketchy, but they just never caught on...one reason was, Home Comforts were sold door to door like vacuum cleaners, the salesmen used a small model range to show the features and took the order...it worked great in the real old days, but lost popularity in the 50s ...at least for things as big as a stove...but they really made a heavy well built range!

I've never seen an electric stove with the elements towards the right.

I saw a few Home Comfort stoves around here, but not an electric. They were always gas and had a side heater that burned either kerosene or wood.

There are design elements of this range's control panel that sort of whisper "Philco."

I don't like the staggered placement of the doors and drawers; it would look better if they lined up.
