Posted an hour ago on CL Tucson:

I have a Lady Kenmore electric dryer for sale

Model 6528934

29" wide

Serial number 02438

It used to work but does not heat up anymore...I believe it has something to do with the heating element...we used it very sparingly as we just used our clothes-line

In good condition

First $50 takes it away

heating element

on a variety of early 60's Kenmore's, both SoftHeat(dual element) and lower-end single element models, Ebay and parts stores still carry the parts, under $50. Buy the machine, CountryFord, the SoftHeat and the best filter ever make for a great dryer. And the drum is big.

I already have a 63 in Turquoise and a 70(non Lady) in avocado. Isn't this a 65 model?

Justin -

It is a 1965 model. I could be either the belt-drive blower design like your '63, or if it is a late-build 1965 model, it will have the fixed bulkhead like dryers currently in production. Its probably more likely to be the belt-drive blower. It does however differ from your '63 in have moisture "feeling" strips mounted on the drum surface.

Would be fun for you to have either way Justin!

Though it's a '65 model, I see it has the later style door handle. Not sure, but think they started using those in '67 or '68.

Door handle

This later door handle was introduced in later 1965. They were changed on washers and dryers at the same time.

This is one of those situations that changed a couple part numbers used in a model, so all in-production models had to be issued new, slightly revised model numbers with new parts schematics. This new handle lasted in production from 1965 to 1972.

I've got a friend in Tucson picking it up for me and taking it to another's house to hold for me. That is the plan for me.

My friend contacted the seller and should be picking it up tomorrow after work.

Thanks Gordon for the info!

My collection of Sears catalogs begins with the '67 Spring & Summer edition. They are in storage, so haven't looked at them for a long time.
