I recently received a LG Turbo Drum washer, model WF-T1081TP, VERY rare to find one of these that is not a portable model in Canada. The owner says it was bought new in 2002 and used to be silent, but now, you cant even move the tub half an inch without it creaking. Sometimes it can be heard in the wash as well, like an old rocking chair.

During the spin cycle though, its another story altogether. If the load is not perfectly balanced obviously the tub is going to shake around a little even at high speed spin, with this washer it sounds like thunder when the tub is moving around. Literally, you would think a tornado hit the house when it starts spinning.

I want to clarify, this is not a bearing issue, or an issue with the washer not balancing out properly. I simply need to know how to take the rap around cabinet off to grease the suspension rod assembly. The washer also has a new pump ordered, it leaks quite badly. I actually haven't worked on a top load washer with a suspension that hangs the basket from the top, so any advice on how to disassemble a washer like this would be greatly appreciated.

I would just replace the suspension rods (I don't know the proper terminology) if they were available anywhere online but no online part stores have them in stock. Some part websites don't even recognize the washers model number, that's how rare this washer is. I will upload pictures soon, it needs a good cleaning first and I haven't got around to it yet. This would have probably been LG's first full size top load washer sold in Canada. From what I can tell by the users manual this particular model was sold in the UK and Canada. They are much more common overseas and in South America.
