Hi, I am desperately trying to find a pink range to buy for my kitchen. I already have a pink 1957 GE combination fridge. It can be either electric or gas. I'm set up for both. I saw a couple on ebay but, sadly, they are way too far away. I live near Detroit, MI, Toledo, Ohio, Ann Arbor, MI. It could pretty much be anywhere in MI, Ohio, or even Indiana I would be willing to travel to. If anyone has one to sell please let me know.

Thanks so much, folks. Oh, would also consider turquoise or Frigidaire's "Sherwood green" as well. But really wanting the pink 1st choice.

Atlanta

This one is on the Atlanta CL - could be too far away, too. But it's a TOL 1961 30" GE range. The asking price is a bit high, I would not hesitate to offer something less.

THAT IS A TASTY STOVE......

newvista58's profile picture
The GE's of that Era are "workhorses".
They last and parts are still available,
new or used.

Sometimes you have to go for the gusto,
to get a good one. If a road trip is not
possible. Check out Uship.com where you
put a bid out, on what you would pay for
shipping.

Just a thought. I used Uship the first
time in June and it worked out well. Shipped
a washer and a stereo from Minneapolis to
NJ.

Good Luck,

Louis

I have a turquoise ge p7 double oven in Cleveland. Email me at

lorainfurniture@yahoo.com.

I also have a pink one but it's in my home and my wife LOVES it. It will take serious negotiations to get that one.

Have a beautiful top of the line Pink '56 Hotpoint...

named Beulah, with all the bells and whistles. SuperMatic deep well pot (removable) w/thermostat controlled burner that raises up to become a regular large 8" burner, the Roto-Grill rotisserie option in the large oven, small oven, even the clock/timer works! She is porcelained over heavy steel on all panels, stainless steel and real chrome and brass trim, made when quality was important. We use her every day, and she is in near mint condtion! The GE and Hotpoint shade of pink is the same, some other company's shades will vary. Her cooktop is perfect, includes the original Owner's Manual. We're moving next year and our new place will have a built-in wall oven & cooktop, otherwise we'd never part with her! $150 to a good home, and Jackie D. can ship her to you safely, as mentioned above, she comes East every month. Will post a pic.

I've started a "shout-out" thread titled "Calling Roger Firedome! Calling Roger Firedome!" It has a link for him to get back to this thread quickly, and it lets him know that you're very interested.

I was going to private message him, but he doesn't have that feature available.

Hope this helps you two connect.

The shout-out thread is here:

We have contact

Thanks to the efforts of the good folks here, Beulah may be on her way, if we can find a way. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with someone who can either get this pink lady out to me in Dundee, Michigan (about a half hour north of Toledo, Ohio)? Or do you think it's even possible for me to get this hippy gal in the back of a mini-van if I take the back seats out? I'd be up for a road-trip but it may end up costing me more in the end. Hmmmmmm....

That top panel should fold down. If it does, (it should, I own the same one in white) it would fit well in a mini van. You should measure, and measure again before you take the drive.

Unless you have an unusually short mini-mini van, the range should easily slide in on its back and lay behind the front seats. I have an older shorter model Dodge Caravan (not the longer Grand Caravan) and have no problems getting them in. The stove is probably 48-50" tall, so if you lay it on its back, that is all the length you need behind the front seats. And you would only need the 40" width between wheel wells. To minimize weight while loading and rattling while driving, you may want to take out the racks and possibly even the lower drawer. And either tape down or remove the burners and burner bowls. It's a beautiful stove, you will love it and it is well worth the driving adventure!

Houston...we have contact!

firedome's profile picture
as mentioned in Sandy's call-out thread, and yes, been AWOL, we're just back from one heckuva road trip out to Denver and back!

She'll fit in a mini-van no problem, we've carried a GE 40"er in the back of our old Trooper, which is much shorter and lower than a minivan. We're exactly 6 hr from Cleveland (we did that trip just this morning!) so figure the time from there.

So glad she'll be going to a great new owner!!
