Well, I'm goin' for it! I think that the only reason mom said yes was because she has a special attatchment to coppertone and the fact that we are in desperate need of a second dryer. This way I can scratch one of the colors I desire off my list! YAY!!! Plus, my Maytag A208S is in need of a new spin bearing and I don't have the time, money, or skills to try and fix it, I might use it for parts, or just as a fancy hamper!

David, that was a TOL Maytag. Largest capacity washer. separate buttons for wash & spin speeds (4 combos) as well as temperatures (5 combos). Control panel lit up from behind. What else would ya like to know? Regular, PP, Pre-wash, & soak cycles.

thx bob! did the center-dial Maytags ever feature extra rinse? was this an unusual feature back then? David

David, auto extra rinse for Maytag did not come into existence until the timer dial was moved to the right. The center dial noes never did have this feature. That was one of the main features that steered me to my 1978 GE rather than an A606 maytag.

i think extra rinse is an over-valued feature, but it should be an option. and the 80s, wasnt that kinda late in the game to introduce it?

David, I believe teh right-side timer design came out in late 1978 or early 1979.

thx again, bob. and the bidding escalates. i wonder if folks are REALLY bidding for both machines, or maybe the bidding is so high cause of the Maytag?
