Patrica Thanks for posting and sharing these appliances,
Take good care of that wall oven unlike the DW these ovens are not a standard size and in a stone wall it will be hard to do much cutting to put in a new bigger oven. The good news is by the early 1960s Frigidaire ovens had gotten pretty good so you should be able to keep this one going for a long time. John L. |

Hi Les, like most mechanical-electrical things if you are looking at one 8 years older it is going to have more problems now and sooner than one that is 8 years newer. Quality and reliability improved quite a bit from 1955 on, although many ovens started to get very complicated in the mid and later 60s when they stared with features like self-cleaning ovens.
Which FD wall oven are you considering ?, I didn't think that FD even came out with DWOs till about 1958. |

It's the side by side Frigidaire double oven range in thread 55754. That one's in N.C. and another one is in Nokomis, Fla. Les |

The pink oven and dishwasher are from 1963 or 1964.
I have a 1962 pink Deluxe dishwasher and it's a bit different from yours. The 1962 model has a different cycle selector, emblem on the door handle, no constant rinse at the top and Bakelite tracks for the upper rack and a smaller silverware basket.
I also have an oven like yours but it's turquoise. Do you have a matching pink cooktop? CLICK HERE TO GO TO PhilR's LINK |

I don't have a cook top but I wish I did sometimes. The "modern" one takes forever to heat up and it's really annoying when I try to clean it. |

You would probably have the same complain if you had an old Frigidaire cooktop, unless it had the "Speed Heat" burner! But they still work fine and for many years! A friend of mine had a newer Frigidaire ceramic cooktop that didn't get a lot of use that had a burner that didn't stop to heat and it was just 4 years old when I replaced the faulty switch that caused it to stay on. I think even the Speed Heat switches usually lasted more than that! |
