Ok, I need some opnions here. I have a Whirlpool coustom 70 dishwasher model SVF70E0. I think there is something broken on the dial counter that sits under the little chrome knob that screws in. Its does not follow the cycles and spins freely under the chrome knob. Is the dial with all the markings broken? there is no flat side in the hole, but yet it looks like something broke off in the back side. Any help, would be a big help. If it is broken, does anyone have a extra that I could buy??? Also can anyone tell me the year of this machine, since it is a coustom 70, I would guess 1970 or so, but I would like to know otherwise.

If you could post a picture of the machine where the cycle knob is located and a picture of the little chrome knob that you mentioned you will have a better chance of getting the correct solution.

As it stands there's a couple of different scenarios that could solve your problem.

Having those few more pics will make it easier.

Good luck!!!

Yes yours is broken where it indexes onto the timer shaft, post your model# and a part # can easily be found, then you can search the part# on the internet.
