Hey Mr. Cleanjeans...

I am glad I came into this forum tonight. I usually "hang out" at the other one. I would have been sad to miss your question and have you think I was blowing you off.

Yes I love that DW. I have used it twice, never with dirty dishes if you can believe that, actually clean Fiesta!

I used Cascade Complete, because either yourself or someone else here recommended it. Guess I really didn't need detergent, but I wanted to have a "full test". I had to get hoses to hook it up to the water faucet, and a drain hose for the sink.

To be honest, I know very little about vintage dishwashers, so not an expert here. In fact, I knew nothing about "impellers" until the seller explained it to me. I am still trying to figure out if the seller is a sometime visitor here, I thought he was and I missplaced his name. He is in Florida I believe.

Anyways, this was an old display unit from a hardware store. There is a very small dent in it at the bottom and a few scratches, aside from that it is really nice.

As you mentioned, one of the great things about it was a big file folder of data. I just got it out to tell you about it, and I will scan some stuff when I get time...I will actually scan it with my scanner rather than use the cheesey digital pic method.

First off, the file folder ITSELF is an American Kitches Roto-Tray Dishwasher folder. It's the free "ad-mat" file for dealers.

Contents:

1) Owners Manual
2) A tag which I decided to remove still hanging inside the mechanicals "Note to plumber". It was starting to get discolored and I knew it would get destroyed if I left it there, so I took it off.
3) Illustrated envelope for the manual, including the drawing of the happy aproned lady: "To the lucky lady, who will never have to do dishes again!"
4) DW-48 Brochure, in color, this is the one with the sink built-in, like an "electric sink". My model is the DW-24, and there is a under counter model called the DW-24UC.
5) Several mats for newspaper ads allowing you to put in your own price and dealership info--all different sizes and orientations
6) Different sized camera ready American Kitchens logos for your own layouts
7) Scripts for one minute, 30 second, 20 second and 15 second radio spots, typewritten
8) An instruction sheet for installing the glass demonstration door (wish I had that!)
9) Warranty Card
10) Install manual
11) More logos in different styles
12) A copyright 1952 Large art sheet comparing G-Z brands to American, with drawings of little elves showing each feature. "Really Workfree: Pre-rinses, Washes, Triple-rinses, Dries, Stores!"

Everything has "Roto-Tray" on it!

The unit seems to work fine. It has that old fashioned, louder dishwasher sound that I love. The sound of the heater on is nice too. The wheel at the bottom is what you set, it is lit, and it makes a nice click as it moves cycle to cycle.

Let me know what items you would like to see scanned the most...there are alot of pages, I feel really lucky to have the documents. They tell you alot and makes the whole thing really a snapshot in time. I have also threatened to make a video of this, and of the Cameron countertop dishwasher I have.

Forgive me,I just noticed the lucky lady envelope is not the same as the DW-48 color brochure, both would be fab-o.Thanks again,Kevin, impellers are fun.

What I can do....

Is scan them and put them on a directory on my toy web site, and give you that path. That way you can grab the jpegs without impacting the storage space here.

Give me a week or so to get to it. I have to dig up the scanner, interface it, etc.

Hi guys I was the person who sold the dishwasher to Kevin.
I just looked and I still had the scans on my yahoo photos. I hope this saves some time for Kevin. I to love the old impeller dishwashers. I only sold it to make room for another and was glad to find it such a good home.

John

Very nice dishwasher

I have a Kenmore impeller wash top loader with the roto rack that has a spray tube for the top rack. Same wash system as this dishwasher. I was very surprised at how much it held & how well it did. This dishwasher should clean very well. I would have it in my kitchen as a every day machine. Enjoy. Very nice machine. PS the Kenmore is sitting in storage & is free to anyone who wants to come get it. Mike
