So in the middle of drying my first load of clothes earlier today, I noticed my DE808 was sounding quieter than usual, so when I went to open the door, I immediately noticed that the drum wasn't spinning. When I spinned it by hand the drum moved freely, so I'm guessing it's a belt?

Anybody else encounter a similar problem?

99% sure it's the belt. Common problem. Inexpensive repair.

Thanks for the replies!

Anybody have a part number for the belt or know where I could find one?

Also how far apart does the dryer need to come apart before I have access to the belt?

I did a search but had no luck..

Original Maytag part # is 3-12959, this subs to FSP part #Y392959. About $15 from the various usual parts vendors. You also have email which will offer you some guidance.

Thanks a lot Kenmore!

I was able to download the manual you sent me which will be a great help in the future as well!
