I was browsing through the Indesit Company website today, and was looking at their finance reports. they always display "future products".
I notice the front page features a Hotpoint Washer, which looks very Indesit/Hotpoint style'd, but with a Whirlpool type display?
I think it looks interesting, and there's emphasis on Direct Injection, which isn't so good on the current Aqualtis, lets see if Whirlpool have improved it!
No Programme guide any more, so it must be an LCD display to show the programme name.
Also, is it me, or is the door looking even chunkier than the current models, which are a bit thicker than the first round door models (probably because of their 10 year guarantee coming into play).
I have no further info on this model, they only showed it off yesterday at their Italian presentation. So probably a year away from production??

Notable changes (compared to previous Ultima):
Dial - instead of buttons to select programme (unlike the other dial operated machines, the numbers are on the side of dial instead of front)
Only 3 buttons below display (Temp, Spin, Delay)
Now 6 buttons to left & right of display (Pre-wash, Eco Wash, Memo, Allergy Rinse, Easy Iron, Key/Child lock)
Direct Injection button
Square start button, replaces the triangle shape one
No prog Guide on Drawer
No Hotpoint Logo on Door.

Possibly - TOL Aqualtis LCD Type display??

Doubt it.

That display is not WP influenced. Owning laundry appliances with both the high and low end WP UIs, I can tell you multiple reasons why it is not a WP build UI.
1. The format of the display is different and does not match the common sizes of a WP display.
2. The buttons are perfect squares. WP uses rounded corners
3. Buttons are integrated into the display.
4. There are 9 buttonns. WP uses 10.
5. If there won’t be a cycle guide, the display needs at least one clear text display line. WP is not using such a thing on any UI currently in production.
I think its a complete Hotpoint development.
Though, it looks pretty darn good...

Agree, I can't see any hints of WP there tbh.

Hopefully they will keep it that way, I for one would prefer two separate brands.

Hotpoint

Looks like the next generation incarnate of a Hotpoint Ultima to me as well - looks simple and sophisticated, just like it should,
AND it gives you all the variables you require in a couple of touches!!

Yup, I agree with the others - I don't see anything Whirlpool influenced, more a logical development of the existing Hotpoint platform. Given lead times, this was quite possibly in development for a while already and it'll likely be a while before Whirlpool and Indesit start larger scale platform sharing (assuming that they do, of course), and there's no need to assume that they'd necessarily use the Whirlpool standard.
