I went to my bi-daily visit to my chiropractor in Bayfront. After all the twisting and cracking, I left and walked three doors down to Sally Shop. The manager saw me and showed me this diamond in a rock . A convertable Kitchenaid Imperial. The chrome is pitted a little with rust spots but the interior is in fair, very dry condition. He said he d go cheap. I reached in my wallet, grabbed the $7 I had with me and bought it getting free delivery for tomorrow. I wonder if Spray9 with some steel wool would do the trick. I'll hook it up and run it with Spray9 ( about 1/8C) and scrub the body. I'll also sand the wood chopping block top then bleach it out,let it dry in heat then use some polyurethane to seal it. I already have cutting boards that are plastic and small enough to run thru the dw. $7.00 what a score!

Sorry,my mistake, It's a KDI 60 ,not KDI 16. I got it delivered today.

KDI 60 model
222251254 serial
Anyone know the year it was made?

I ran it through pots n pans using heat but cool dry. The timer works but was off quite a bit. It clicks like the current washers timers not like an older type. It might need to be replaced but, the cycles go through w no issues. The heat light comes on during the pre and main washes and the fan blows, air.circulating it convective and then shuts off at the end of the cycle. Not too noisy. Quieter then I anticipated it to be. Making some.turkey chilli to test it out tonite. The left side of the glide rail was off track and the plastic snap holding the wheel in place was snapped out. I was able to fix it and it needs no replacement. The damned thing is drying and the steam smells like it's(the dishwasher) brand new. I wonder if the timer issue was from day 1 and the owner just decided to do dishes by hand thus, pushing it out of the kitcheninto the carport or garage. The chrome trim cleaned up pretty nice. Racks are intact,no rust anywhere. Came with original faucet adaptor.

Great outcome
Ran a full load,no pre rinsing. Used Finish gel tab,no JetDry and pots n pans cycle. Used cool,no heat dryand all but plastics came out dry. I'm baking a cake for my.birthday and making a turkey chilli casserole for tomorrows dinner. I had to get the 18.5 lb. turkey out of the freezer to thaw. The Kenmore convertibles are unable to hold different items like cookie sheets, deep casserole dishes and taller drink glasses. My KA does them all. What the hell took me so long???? Must be ment to have happened. I'm beside mysel.$7.00!

I believe would be a 20 Series. Welcome to the world of classic Hobart KAs! ... Hobart sold KA to WP in '86 when the 22s had been out already and that Series was the last truly Hobart-designed machine. It doesn't get any better than Hobart KAs, especially for quality of construction. Some think that WP PC and GE Multi-Orbit machines cleaned better, we never had one, so can't say, but bet they aren't built like a true Hobart!
