Greetings all
After falling in love with a Hoover TwinTub ages (and I mean ages ago) – I’ve finally found one and brought it home last week.
It’s a 0515 and I just bought the manual from the site – just to have it!
So – I have filled it and as far as I can tell – there are no leaks. It had been sitting for about 2 years without use.
After filling – and running the ‘washing’ side of things – draining became the problem. The spin canister motor is running fine and actually – tried spinning with a load in there and no problems – except draining.
I have taken the back off the unit and the switch on top of the pump is moving back and forth between the tub and spinner – and using gravity to empty – works.
I see that the belt for the pump motor is extremely loose to the point where it is not engaging the pump at all. Even some of the other belts are ‘loose’ but I don’t see it affecting the tub and/or spinner can.
I think I have information overload with all that I have been reading – various postings and blogs and EBay info, etc…
My request is simple and im hoping that someone can help point me in the right direction.
1 – I need to have a pump belt – A.S.A.P. I don’t think that the pump itself is frozen up – but will need to determine that after I get the belt. I did look at the belt, but cannot say if it’s the blue or yellow one (again too much info that I looked at).
2 – I would like to get my hands on a repair manual
my wish list is that I obtain the 3 extra belts (pump, spinner can and tub motor(is this what is referred to as the pulsator))? at some point in time and possibly another pump (just in case).
Could someone please help?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!

what kind of drain pump system does your hoover have? is it the old kind of drain pump, that flips the inner "plungers" from the spinner side & the washtub side (in the upper part of the drain pump)? or is it the newer style of drain pump, that has the "pinch valve" system?

as for checking to see if the pump itself is "frozen", i think you can check that, before you even get the belt, by trying to turn the pulley by hand (while the machine is unplugged), to see if you can turn the pump's pulley, easily by hand. i THINK if the pulley turns easily, than the pump isn't "frozen". if you can't turn the pulley, then the pump could be "frozen". i think that should be easy for you to check.

i think launderess has a book that might be able to tell you which color of stretch belt you need for your 0515 drain pump to motor? i wonder if you could google that information??

from what i've found on google, i think your hoover 0515 has the later style of drain pump with the "pinch valve" (i think that's what it's called?).
i am not familiar with that kind of drain pump.

:o(

i had a hoover 0510 with the older style drain pump. and as of right now, i can't rememeber which color the 0510 used, but i'm thinking mine used the "blue" splotched belt?

:o/
