Next up is truly a rare find. It's a Franklin washer owners manual, the first I've found for the Ephemera library.

This manual is somewhat generic as the control panels were similar with just different branding. Some of the brands associated with the manual would have been Bradford, Gibson, Coronado, Co-Op, Gambles, Kelvinator etc.

Here is a typical machine that it would be packed in (hopefully new and pretty though lol, unlike this one below):

Next up is this washing machine brochure from Dexter in 1957, all of their machines were made by Philco at this time. It covers the automatic washer, wringer washer and double-tub wringer washers.

Here is the 1956, which would be similar to the 1957 but with a different control panel...

Finally is the owners manual to this Wards Imperial Signature Dryer.

Here is what this cool dryer looked like on the farm, again I'm sure it was beautiful the day it was delivered from the Wards store...

Great reading!

Thanks for posting these Robert (and the Beam Portable Dishwasher from the other day)!
These are all very interesting. Really appreciate all your hard work to keep these on record! Thanks again!

Wow!  Is that a two-story panel on the Snorge dryer?  That is truly, shall we say, over the top!

Looks to me like the Wards were desperately trying to keep up with the Roebucks with that one.

Actually Raplph that's a Westinghouse made dryer, about one of their last ones before Wards switched from Westinghouse made washers and dryers to Norge made machines.

Thanks for clarifying, Robert.

The access panel up top spoke "Norge" to me, but now that I've thought about it, I think Norge placed it on the right instead of left.

Franklin design was also sold under Hamilton ? I remember seeing an abandoned Hamilton and it looked so much like a 1-18 it surprised me.

You are right Jon, Hamilton was made by Norge at first, but then they went Franklin on us.

Eddy has this Canadian Franklin, which was similar to the Hamilton...

that agitator in Eddy's looks like your "Wizardtator" but yours is a solid tub. Wizard wasn't a Franklin machine was it?

Yes Wizard certainly was a Franklin machine Jon, at first it was Beam, but then in the 60's they went Franklin.

I believe you are referring to my '66 Coronado. A winged agitator is a Franklin giveway...
