I just added four new items to the Epehmera library. I will make a post in this thread for each.

First up is this HUGE 1966 Frigidaire Tech-Talk Automatic Washer Service manual. It's 200 pages, one of the biggest I've seen from Frigidaire. It took me forever to scan and assemble, but it was worth it as it is chock full of great information on Roller-matics. The file is quite large, so it will take a few minutes to download...

Next up is the White-Westinghouse Laundry Brochure. I had one of these machines for a while, it was great fun and very splashy!

Third is this 1980 Thermador Applinaces Catalog

Dishwashers are included and there was even a Thermador built in can opener that I never heard of before!

Remember the rare Beam Dishwasher that I posted a few weeks backs in this thread ?(see: http://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?57448)

Well I just found the Beam Dishwasher Service Manual. Still I have no idea who made this machine, but it gives us more clues for sure.

Thanks so much for posting these Robert. You've been a busy boy during the holidays!! :)

The Beam dishwasher looks very similar to Whirlpools first spray arm model. It, too, had a horizontal pump set up very similar to this (a Gorman-Rupp pump) and a separate drain pump. The drain pump in the Whirlpool was self driven, as opposed the belt driven set up in the Beam (which in and of itself is a very interesting design). The upper rack design, the filter system, and the detergent dispenser are also similar, but not exactly the same. I'm wondering whose design influenced the other? It could also be coincidence, but there are many similarities. Anyhow, it makes great reading! :)

Also, i'm grateful for all the Frigidaire Tech Talks...these are fascinating machines and thankfully now I have a library to help me learn more & more about them!

Thanks again for getting all these into the library. Hope you and Fred are having a great holiday!

Hi Al,

Thank you for your kind words!

Yes I had some time off from my day job during the holidays which let me get in many hours of scanning, ugh many hours lol. So you are correct, I was a busy boy during the holidays. I hope to concentrate more on the Ephemera Library next year, for sure.

It was also reported to me recently that this Beam dishwasher was also marketed under the Montgomery Wards name! It sure would be interesting to find one of these rare dishwashers.

Thank you again and I'm glad you're enjoying my latest additions to the library.

Happy holidays to you as well!
