Hi Everyone:
We have a KitchenAid tall tub dishwasher (Model KUDK03ITWH3) that had had recent cleaning performance deterioration. We have been very happy with this unit up until now. Glasses and silverware are coming out filmy where they used to come out spotless with only occasional spots. (Rinsing with white vinegar then water removes the film.)

This has not corresponded to a change in cycle type or with detergent. It has happened with Finish Quantum tablets, Cascade Complete (old, with phosphates) and Somat powder. Rinse agent dispenser is full (Jet Dry...as we always have used).

Both wash arms are working and I pulled off the cover to the sump area...no debris or other blockages.

I did notice that after filling the water level is about 1/4 to 1/8" below the heating element on the left and right sides. (Near the portion of the element parallel to the door, the water is just under the bottom of the element.) (I have added additional water during the wash and [based on pump/spraying sounds] doesn't seem to make a huge difference.)

I am wondering if I need to replace the inlet valve as possibly it is not letting in as much water as it used to.

Should the water level be up to the element on all sides or does it seem like there is sufficient water?

Thanks very much.

Bob
