I scored this the weekend before Thanksgiving at a sale only less than a mile from my house however the coupler collar is broke and is missing two ball bearings. I had a KA spare drain/fill hose but lo and behold it is too short. I pulled up the replacement drain/fill hose assembly (unicouple) from Frigidaire and they want over $160 for it! Are there any part #s from Whirlpool that would work just as well or from any other brand? I looked at the repair kit but that is for ones with the plastic slices

Alex, why don't just extend the KA one you used? You can get hose barbs, clamps and extra hose for the drain hose and for the fill hose if it has a standard screw on connector, you can get a male to male coupler and connect a standard 3 foot washing machine hose. Probably less than $20 worth of parts at Ace Hardware.

Coppertone Kenmore Portable

Great pics of that Kenmore! Brings back good memories of my Mom's early 70's machine of the same color. They are so easy to work on- I may still have one of those collars floating around-used to keep one handy. I'll check and see.
Good Luck!

Defoe, great pic of you and friend. Nice to see you hang out in the "correct" type of bars!

Chris and Robert I did it get fixed after two trips to Branneky Hardware and she's back up and running correctly - the guys there were very helpful with finding the right barbs and clamps. The other guy in my avatar is my friend Greg who's a platform lead at Monsanto and often the many subject of Miss Gasko's silliness

Hi Alex..

I hooked up a portable KA between my washer and dryer by using washing machine hose and regular drain hose, worked great, those Roto Racks really clean well, that was made by a company called D and M, Design and Manufacturing.Hans

Hans, I hooked up a KDI-55 about three years ago in my basement next to my washer in the same fashion - I use that to wash parts and the like

I talked my dad into buying this exact machine in Avacado. Loved the look, sounds, lights and Roto-rack!!! I was 13 and did ALL the housework as my mom was a sweet but housework-averse lady.

Lucky me also had new '67 LK washer and tol KM canister vacuum w/Powermate. Garage held '67 white Pontiac Executive Safari 9 pass wagon which I washed/waxed/vacuumed. And bought from dad at age 16.

I had it good. Can I go back to that fun/innocent time? :)

Back up and running with no leaks! Interior looks good with no rusty racks but exterior rust on the bottom panel. This will be more of a "fun" dishwasher for the time being - I'm a Whirlpool boy at heart and I love my portable PowerClean and the in the door silverware basket too much to call it quits
