Greetings. Hopefully this is the right place to post this. I am looking at a new top loading HE washer and matching dryer. After looking through reviews and features vs. price, I got comfortable with either the WT5070 or 4870. But neither is available now and have been replaced in the market by the WT4970.

I cannot make the determination if the reviews on the prior models might still apply. Even the LG website comparison is very muddy.

Does anyone have any insight on the differences?

I also looked at the WT1101CW which is still available. However I am concerned about the front-mounted controls and constantly leaning over (and on) those controls. Unless you are very tall, there is no way to avoid it. I assume they are turned off when the lid is open? But even if not, wonder if leaning on them would wear them.

I am not hung up on only LG, but in looking at reviews, it seems to hit the sweet spot on noise, "gentle on fabrics", size, etc.

Thanks!
BJB

Just my experience with them as a servicer. They tend to go off balance quite a bit, and nothing really corrects it. I just looked at one last week that was 1.5 years old that had a tub seal leak. Aside from that, people seem to be satisfied with them.

The new(ish) vertical belt drive by whirlpool is pretty decent, and easy to fix.
