I have heard of other uses-like in a back issue of Lapidary Journal-They use a broken down FL washer as a large rock tumbler.Another idea is using the transmission of a TL washer and some wire rigged up so it will oscillate the wire back and forth--as a crude mud saw.One Lapidary cut and slabbed jade boulders that way.Would love to see videos of this-the magazine is old--before the days of videos.They just show a few pictures in the book of lashing these up.
A good freind of mine who is an avid shotshell reloader--uses and old Maytag TL washer to clean range pick fired shotgun shells placed in a large mesh bag.Works well!
