Nice you pay for the DIY pressing job!Guess you better have LOTS of quarters handy if you were ironing large items such as tablecloths and sheets.Like the maps in the background! |

That is very cool - it even comes with the Ironrite chair. The chair is probably worth more than the ironer.
There is a laundromat in Minneapolis that still has a coin-operated ironing system. Steam generator powers two flat presses and IIRC they had two hand irons as well. We stood and watched as two women pressed their entire wardrobes it seemed. T-shirts and jeans, everything. They were pretty proficient with the flat presses and the process was quick. |

I wonder if somewhere around here, in the N.Atlanta area, there are laundromats with these commercial-like ironers. That would be something I would enjoy seeing, too, Gan…and taking some photos. I used to LOVE to watch my mom iron clothes and some other things. I can still hear the sound of the iron pressing, releasing and rising up. People who talk about the washers and all the water action, that's an also with me, but the Iron-Rite was as interesting to me as a kid as the blue flame of the washer(which I used to kneel down to view in the open lower right door window. Fun moments.
