Good Evening Washer Enthusiaists,
Electrolux recently introduced a new compact laundry system for the U.S. market. From my research I have learned that this washer is also produced in the European market. I have several questions. What is jet wash? Does it recirculate the water throughout the wash? How reliable is this washer? How many baffles in the washer? As I live in a condo, a full size washer and dryer are not an option. I need to replace my current washer/dryer and this looks like a good candidate. The combined wisdom of all the members on this site is awesome and I look forward to some great advice. Thank you, Richard |

Electrolux first purchased AEG then got their mitts on the brand name as well.
Oko-AEG "Lavamat" washing machines of old used spray recirculation system. You can search the archives here in the group for discussions about these machines. Purpose of recirculation systems in front loaders is they allow lower water use. My Lavamat mainly uses the spray system with cycles that have "low" water levels. Other cycles where high water is used (such as a stand alone rinse/starch cycle) merely fills the tub with water. Does the washer you saw at PC Richards look like this? Didn't you just purchase a washer and (condenser) dryer not that long ago. Pure die hard Oko-AEG made in Germany fans deplore what Electrolux has done with the brand. Others find them perfectly satisfactory. Being as all that may even my German built Oko-Lavamat is not built as solid as the vintage Miele w1070 in my collection. The AEG uses much more plastic and isn't anywhere near the level of fit and finish of the Miele. CLICK HERE TO GO TO Launderess's LINK |

Dear Laundress,
You are quite correct. I did just recently purchase a compact washer and condensor dryer. However, it was for my New York apartment. This set will be for my Florida condominium. Due to space limitations in my Florida condo, I need to go with a compact unit. The width is not the issue, it is the depth. This new Electrolux set will fit! Before I purchase, I want to see it in person. The PC Richards near me does not have them in stock. The closest PC Richards that has them on the floor is in Queens. Guest I will have to take a trip. I am not a fan of Miele anything (except their vacuum cleaners) and the Bosch systems seem expensive. The Electrolux hits the sweet spot in price and features. Again, thank you all for the information. Stay well, Richard |
