this is a dream come true. a brand new KA machine with the exact internals and design i've been coveting for a LONG time.

small problem, i have no way of getting it nor do i even have a house to put it in.......i'm a college kid.

hey, anyone from NJ do you want this machine???
if any of you guys here buy this, i'd be so abliged if you did.
In maybe a year i'd love to buy this off of someone from here if they get it. I'd pay more than what it sells for here!

any nibbles?

eh maybe i was overreacting. this a FANTASTIC find. You guys on the east coast better grab this.
I'm sure there'll be more out there for when it's time for me to get one. Maybe not brand new, but i'm sure these are out there.

John, I'd love this myself--too far away and expensive shipping.

NOS Hobart?!

No, I don't think you're overreacting. :-) I'd love to have it, too, and I don't have anywhere to put it, either.

Hope someone snags this, for you or someone else.

This looks like the last of the Hobart designs, just before Wirlpool bought them out. Great machine!

Steven, this is wayy past when Whirlpoo bought them. Yes, it's a KA skin, but has a PowerClean soul. This is a KDI23, the last like it. Next came the KD24 series, which had the SS interior and was more of a glorified Whirlpool racking system.

Control Panel

I've never seen a KA control panel like this one. What year is it? If I could, I'd snap it up right now.

NOT a Hobart

Hi Guys! This is a Whirlpool made, almost BOL machine. (note the plastic arm on the upper rack, etc).....sorry to bust the bubble. It is still a pretty good dishwasher though, just don't expect Hobart performance. Mark

whenever i get out of school and settle down, be it a house, condo or apt. (regardless of rules) i'm getting myself a nice old KitchenAid dishwasher. I'll take any of the 2 level washing ones, but this type with this design of powerclean module is my favorite. I'll even settle for a Sculptura model, the SS ones. but the new ones? all shit, even other brands.
I used to be a GE fan but i don't even trust them anymore. Our machine at home is a 2003 triton xl with XtraClean wash system. the new Brilliantclean is a knockoff of the previous with smaller and less holes (???).

old KA for me. i'll even get a mild fixer upper, that's ok.
but finding a brand new one of these? dang, i couldn't sleep last night.

The only KA I ever owned was a green front load portable with the controls on the top back. It had a hidden heat element as I thought all KA's did. Did they ditch that when Whirpoool took over?

John,
I found a KDS20 in good condition in an estate sale 2 years ago, and a mint KDS21 in a yard sale last year. They are out there, it just sucks when you are not in the position to grab them. (Storage is always an issue, as is $$$) I will keep my eyes open for you in this area, and would be glad to stash it for you in NY until you are ready to use it. I would strongly recommend a Hobart KD. You can keep the WP KD's, as far as I'm concerned.
