Serial C939 = 39th week of 1989. The outer tub is plastic so it's not a source of rust. You've changed the inner basket. The tub support centerpost can deteriorate and generate rust (part # 389350, $89 more/less plus labor, and I believe includes new centerpost bearings already in place). Rusting can also loosen from beneath the cabinet top and fall into the basket but doesn't seem from your pictures to be much cosmetic rusting. |
